Imani Bridges is a not – for – profit organization with a vision to serve as a strategic mobilization agency that equips, connects and empowers leaders, provides a venue for fellowship and exchange of ideas and implements community and economic development initiatives.

The President, Dr. Kathy H. Dudley and a group of other visionaries and local Nigerian leaders formed Imani Bridges in 2004 with the purpose of catalyzing intercultural reconciliations, creating culturally sustainable solutions to healthcare, education and hunger problems led by the local Nigerian leaders and supported by the global community.

Missions Aid International is the anchor partner for Imani Bridges’ ongoing Badagry Project in Nigeria. The project envisages intercultural reconciliations both at local and international settings with the background of Badagry being a former slave port from where some of over 2.5 million slaves were exported to the Americas.

The Badagry Project

Badagry is a coastal town and local government area in Lagos State, Nigeria, which occupies a total landmass of 441 square kilometres. Founded in 1425 AD it is situated between Metropolitan Lagos, and the border with Benin Republic at Seme. The town is noted for being a transit camp of slaves captured from the interior and transported to America and Europe between the16th century and 18th century. This settlement is now notable for the museums of relics and artifacts relating to the Trans-Atlantic slave trade in Nigeria.

The Badagry Project of Imani Bridges involves:

Construction of a comprehensive school with boarding facilities and a community hall.
Construction of a clinic
Construction of 3 Bore Holes
Solar – power based electrification
Free Medicare Program (Including surgeries, Eye tests & Glass gifts, Dental care, HIV/Aids tests & Counseling, etc.)
Vocational Training of about 500 young adults in various vocations.
Intercultural reconciliation meetings between Badagry indigenes and the USA team.
