2. THEME FOR THIS YEAR: Adoption of Missionaries. (This focus for the year was received from God as a solution to the dilapidated state of our Missions due to under funding. Many of the missionaries employed in the States are not properly catered for. Some of them have their children out of school for lack of money.)
3. PURPOSE
• To create opportunity for adoption of missionaries and mission fields by individual CRM members or parishes or their families or businesses. Adoption does not involve too much: it involves praying for the adoptee and giving monthly financial support to the extent the adopter can afford.
• To help members to be more mission-minded in order to become better balanced as true Disciples of Christ and to participate in missions by Going, Giving or praying.
• To create an opportunity for every CRM member to bless a missionary and continue to show them love not only during the Missions Week but also on a regular basis.
• To encourage CRM members and church centres to become more serious with the weekly missions offering.
4. WHAT TO DO DURING THE CRM NATIONAL MISSIONS WEEK.
• Pastors are to mobilize their members to participate in doing the following during the week.
• Ensure participation in the Missions Week Bible Study on Sunday 5th July.
• Visit a serving missionary in his/her mission field during the Week, and go with gifts.
• Call some missionaries on phone and encourage them. Their numbers are in the current Missions Week journal and also published online.
• Participate in the Missions Week Special Offering on Sunday 12th July 2020. The target of this Special Offering is N1000 or more per CRM member.
